Mom went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2009.  It appears she went peacefully in her sleep.

For the last few weeks she had been experiencing some new symptoms … dizziness, shortness of breath, and generally tired and weak.  We were supposed to see her neurologist this morning to go over the MRI that was done last week.  He suspected that she had had another “Silent Stroke” or TIA (Mini Stroke).  If so, the recommendation would likely have been to move her to assisted living or worse, a nursing home.  She saw what my dad went through, and this would have devastated her.

I called her at 7:30am to make sure she was up and about, but there was no answer.  I called again at 7:45 and 8:00.  I got over there around 8:30am …..

Although her passing is sad for those of us that remain, it was the best way for it to happen, for her and for us.

She’s with the Lord, and my dad.  No more walker … no more forgetting things.

My sister, her two boys, and I appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

* Mom liked the melody of “Greensleeves” long before she was a Christian.  I think she was really pleased to find out a Christmas song used the same melody.
